21 Party Shoes To Get You In The Holiday Spirit

Well, it's here. The holiday season has landed. Downtown Chicago is ablaze with Christmas lights, holiday jingles are in the air, and I've officially dusted off my holiday movie collection.....ok that's a lie, I totally watch holiday movies in the middle of July. Love Actually, anyone? Best. Movie. Ever.

Besides having an excuse to watch Love Actually more times than necessary (and rewinding certain scenes to watch over again cause they're just that good...yeah, I know I have a problem). The holidays also mean it's time for get-togethers with family and friends, as well as those ultimate work parties that never fail to entertain. So while you may have an arsenal of amazing party dresses for the season, don't forget to show you feet a little love too (a "foot party", perhaps? No? I'm trying too hard, I know).

From velvety reds, shimmering metallics, and elegant blacks, I've rounded up 21 holiday heels that will see you through your every holiday fete :)

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for reading!

Shoe Lust: ShopRuche.com

Hi everyone! I was doing a little online shopping this morning and came across this new site (new to me at least, haha) ShopRuche.com. It's a very sweet online indie boutique that has everything from dresses to bags,  home goods and even a bridal section. When I stumbled upon the site I was looking at shoes (surprise surprise!) and holy cow do they have an impressive shoe collection.

As I scrolled through practically every other pair I saw I had to click on as I desperately wanted it, I can see myself easily throwing down for a couple of these beauties. The great thing is all their shoes are very reasonably priced, the problem only arises when you want 6 different pairs at once, haha! I gathered a couple of my favorites below, definitely check out their site for more and don't be surprised if you see a pair (or two!) in a future outfit post ;)

Addicted 2 Shoes: Summer Sandals

I believe the warm weather is finally here to stay, so time to let you feet breathe and wiggle your toes in some strappy summer sandals! I'm loving the multi-strap sandal for this summer and the various colors and textures you can find. Pair these sandals with anything and everything! Casual boyfriend jeans (my fave), maxi dresses, a sweet summer dress, the possibilities are endless. :)

Outfitted: Printed Tunic + Melissas

Hi everyone! I hope your week is going swell ;) Does anyone remember when jelly shoes were all the rage, specifically when we were little? I definitely remember having several different pairs (my shoe addiction started when I was young, haha!) of jelly sandals in different colors with all sorts of bedazzlements, they were the ultimate summer shoe for the kids.

Well, last week I made a little purchase that took me back to those younger days and bought a pair of Melissa's. For those of you who don't know, Melissa's are like jellies for adults, they're made of 100% recyclable plastic, come in all sorts of colors, shapes, and sizes (including men's shoes!), and have an amazingly sweet bubblegum scent.

I first heard about the brand through a friend who owned a pair of their ballerina flats, and, ironically enough, it was with that same friend that I purchased my first pair. These flats literally had just been delivered to the Akira shoe store in Wicker Park and the manger brought them out mere seconds before I was about to purchase a pair of metallic boat shoes (which I'm still considering going back to get, hehe). I ended up switching to these beauties and I'm so glad I did! I haven't really had the chance to rock them since the weather here in Chicago hasn't been very 'jelly shoe appropriate', but I'm excited to see what kind of outfits I'll pair them with as they're the perfect pop of color for summer :)

Do any of you own Melisssa's? If so, what's your favorite way to style them?

Side note: Please ignore the little spec of something that was apparently on my lens as I was taking these shots, I didn't notice it till after I started editing the photos. Second, that little brown patch on the ground by my feet...don't be alarmed, it's only moss ;)

'Till Next Time...

Sunday Obsessions: Graphic Knits + Desert Boots

Hi There!

I want to apologize for the lack of posts this past week, I've been moving in with DCT and didn't really have the time to do posts between packing, work, cleaning, moving, and unpacking. There are still a few more things I need to do, but I'm slowly getting settled in to the new place and with that said, this week will also probably be a little low on posts, but I'll do my best :]

I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I started a new job recently as well :] It's as a sales/buyer for a recycled fashion retail store and I am loving it! Not only are the people I work with great, but I'm around clothes and shoes from top retailers (H&M, Zara, Anthropologie, J.Crew, etc.) and designers (Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabbana, etc.) all sold at discounted prices! Needless to say this has incited the shopaholic in me as we're constantly getting new items in the store everyday.

So, to get back in the swing of things, here's a little post of items I'm currently keeping an eye out for. I have a sneaky feeling that within a couple months of working here I may have to start expanding into DCT's closet space, which I'm sure he won't mind ;] haha! Enjoy!

BDG Bird's Eye Striped Sweater, Urban Outfitters / Rag & Bone 'Fulton' Colorblock Sweater, Nordstorm

Is there anything you're currently on the hunt for?

Addicted 2 Shoes:Transitioning to Fall

So we've reached August, days are going to slowly get shorter, nights are going to get cooler and we'll hit that awkward moment where it's not hot enough to throw on a dress and sandals, nor is it cold enough to wear a pea coat and knee high boots. I'm personally ready to see the 90+ degree weather go and bust out my boots and chunky scarfs. I'm always happy to have summer come but also glad to see it go (and yes I am one of those people who will complain like no other in the middle of winter about how summer can't come fast enough ;]).

Being in this weird transition phase, it makes one question - what do I wear.....on my feet? I'm a big fan of layers during the "transitioning" stage, but I've always had difficulty with what shoes to wear as the weather starts getting a little schizophrenic, so I've pulled together a few (ok, probably more than a few as I have an admitted shoe addiction) shoes I find are perfect for the transition into Fall. Get ready for a nice dosage of shoe porn ;] Enjoy!
