Rock This!: Fashionably Prepared for Finals.

Finals Fashion
It's that time of the year, Finals week is here. It's an exciting yet stressful time of year for me, exciting because it means school is almost out for the summer, but stressful because I am the biggest procrastinator ever as well as a huge perfectionist (which is a really weird combination) and I always end up scrambling near the end of the week to get everything put together and turned in.

I tend to look pretty rough throughout this week, as the concern for my appearance continues to decrease as  due dates draw closer and closer, haha! Comfort is key when it comes to fashion during finals (sometimes, for me, its borderline street bum, haha), and with that I thought I'd share a few of my essentials for finals to show those of you who may be going through finals as well how to be fashionably prepared ;)

1. Geek Chic glasses are a must as contacts tend to dry out when staring at a computer screen for hours and hours and hours....

2. Layers are key! Especially if you're hanging out late night in the library or a coffee shop. Plus a chunky scarf can double as a pillow for quick power naps ;)

3. Tunes to keep you motivated.

4. Caffeine to keep you focused.

5. Backpacks are tres chic for finals week, plus it will literally hold everything and anything you may need.

6. Save the killer heels for the week after when you're celebrating surviving another year :)

And there you have it! With that said, I will probably be m.i.a. the rest of this week (I know, I know, so sad), I need to put all my energy and focus towards these huge final projects. But have no fear, I will be back in action come Monday and all yours for the next 3 months ;)

I hope everyone has a great week and weekend! Pray I don't stress myself out too much, haha :)

'Till Monday...

Outfitted: Style Mint + Boyfriend Jeans

Hi everyone! Happy Monday, I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was filled with work & apartment hunting. I know I mentioned before that DCT and I were getting ready for a move, well now we're officially starting to look and hoping to find something soon :)

On to a different topic, have any of you ever gotten dressed and really liked what you had on, but the second you step out the door you absolutely loath it? Sound crazy? Well that's exactly what happened to me this weekend. DCT and I were off to look at apartments and I was pretty satisfied with what I had on before we left, however during that 30 seconds spent from leaving the apartment to getting outside, I suddenly hated what I had on. Why? I don't know, but we were already running late so I had no time to go back and change into something else. Needless to say, I was in a slightly grumpy mood the rest of the afternoon.

When we finally got home and I was able to change, I was trying to rush as it looked like it was going to rain and couldn't find a thing to wear, which of course just added to my frustration. So I did what I do best when my level of frustration is super high...put on some jams and clean. And you know what, after I stepped away and stopped pressuring myself to put an outfit together, I suddenly was able to come up with something! The moral of this story? When you're struggling to come up with an idea, whether it be an outfit or a solution at work, just take a moment, step away, and focus on something else, you'll be surprised how quickly your mind with figure out a solution when you're not trying to force it.

Last but not least, about this outfit! I've been living in DCT's jeans for this past week, something about gloomy weather and boyfriend jeans just seem to go together for me. Add a striped tee, a leather jacket, and my favorite loafers, you've got yourself a great lazy Sunday outfit :) I recently purchased this striped tee from Style Mint and I'm really liking it, its comfy, I can see it being pair with various items, and the stripe design is really cool, though you can't really see it as it started raining as I was taking these pictures so I didn't get around to taking off my jacket, haha!

Ok, I'm done rambling! I hope everyone enjoys their week! :)

'Till Next Time...

Outfitted: Grandfather's Loafers

Pink Cordoruy Blazer / Denim Shirt, Zara / Skinny Jeans, Akira / Loafers, Bamboo / Velvet Scarf / Watch, Michael Kors / Lips, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Certainly Red

Working at the new job I'm on my feet for about 10 hours almost everyday, so pretty heels are out of the question and therefore I've been investing in more flats. If you remember in a previous post I mentioned how I was totally into the emerging loafer trend and as you can see above I finally bought myself a pair! I love these shoes, they're super cushioned on the inside which is perfect for work, and I think the burgundy color gives them an old-fashioned, masculine touch almost as if they were stolen from my grandfather's closet. :]

Happy Wednesday, we're halfway through the week!

Sunday Obsessions: Graphic Knits + Desert Boots

Hi There!

I want to apologize for the lack of posts this past week, I've been moving in with DCT and didn't really have the time to do posts between packing, work, cleaning, moving, and unpacking. There are still a few more things I need to do, but I'm slowly getting settled in to the new place and with that said, this week will also probably be a little low on posts, but I'll do my best :]

I don't think I mentioned it on here, but I started a new job recently as well :] It's as a sales/buyer for a recycled fashion retail store and I am loving it! Not only are the people I work with great, but I'm around clothes and shoes from top retailers (H&M, Zara, Anthropologie, J.Crew, etc.) and designers (Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabbana, etc.) all sold at discounted prices! Needless to say this has incited the shopaholic in me as we're constantly getting new items in the store everyday.

So, to get back in the swing of things, here's a little post of items I'm currently keeping an eye out for. I have a sneaky feeling that within a couple months of working here I may have to start expanding into DCT's closet space, which I'm sure he won't mind ;] haha! Enjoy!
