Outfitted: Plaid + Stripes

(Vintage Blazer (similar DV by Dolce Vita and loving this Olivia Moon) / H&M Striped Top / H&M Purple Corduroys (similar 7 for All Mankind) / Steve Madden Booties)

Hi everyone! This is going to be a short and sweet Friday post, I wanted to quickly introduce you to the new me with long, past my belly-button hair! I have never had hair this long before in my life, it's definitely been a different experience and it's only been a couple of days, haha! My cats follow me around thinking I'm some new play toy and can someone please explain to me how one with this much hair is supposed to sleep at night? Haha! It's one big learning experience, but I do really like them and have already started playing with different styles :) Keep a look out for a post next week with more details about my new 'do!

Nothing really special about this outfit expect for this vintage blazer that I've been wearing non-stop. I randomly saw a girl trying it on in the store, instantly feel in love and was happy to see her pass on it. I've always liked the look of plaid blazers, it's "preppy-chic" or as DCT cleverly mentioned it's like an "old-school game show host", so whichever you perfer ;)

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I'm actually off all weekend so I'm thinking some college football and hitting up Dose Market is in my future :) Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday! :: Outfitted: Boho Layers

Hey everyone! One of my favorite things about the cooler weather is the opportunity to layer, I just think it creates a more interesting look as you can play with colors, textures, and prints. Simply start with a basic canvas, such as a neutral tee and skinny jeans, then begin adding different elements from sweaters to a cozy cardi, jackets to chunky scarfs.

I totally felt a Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen boho-chic vibe after putting this outfit together, all I'm missing is some dark oversize sunglasses and another layer of fur then I'd be ready to take on the fashion mecca of New York!

Any plans for the weekend? I hope it's great fun whatever you do :) Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday friends! Maxi dresses are not only my go to during the summer, but they're also my favorite item for transitioning into fall. Just add some tall boots, a stretchy knit sweater or button-up, topped off with a blazer and a warm scarf; and you're ready for the chill of a perfect fall day.

The weather here in Chicago has been a little jumpy this week, mid-70's yesterday then down to the mid-40's today so having extra layers that you can throw on or off is almost essential to survive the bi-polar temperatures.

Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? I'm seeing a corn maze and apple-picking in my future :) Whatever you do I hope it's ultra-fabulous ;) Thanks for reading!

Happy Friday! :: Outfitted: RueBelle Designs

Hi everyone!

It was actually relatively cool this day so I busted out the tights and my favorite Fall shoe - the bootie :) You've seen this anorak many times before, but it's just the perfect layering piece I can't seem to give it a rest. However, I would like to invest in an updated version with leather sleeves as I mentioned in this post, it would be the perfect upgrade :) You've also seen this dress before as it's actually a skirt but I decided to switch things up a bit, you know keep things interesting, plus I love when items are unexpectedly versatile.

I also must talk to you about these earrings! I recieved them as a gift from RueBelle Designs (Thanks Jeannie!), they create a line of high-end jewelry and are the originators of the Silk Flower Earring, all of which are handmade on the island of Maui in Hawaii *swoon* That is one place I have yet to visit, but these earrings definitely gave me a taste of what it may be like laying on the beach drinking in the hot Hawaiian sun....

I'm wearing the White Peony set which has the hand painted silk flower, moonstones, opals, and a 14K gold fill chain and findings. They're beautifully made and can really brighten up any outfit. I'm also loving their Fuschia Orchid Earrings and Star Flower Earrings. Be sure to check out their online boutique (click here!) as they also offer a beautiful collection of necklaces, bracelets, headbands, and a really cool men's section!

Thanks again to RueBelle Designs and thanks to you all for reading! Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!!

Outfitted: Ditsy Florals + Pink Suede Boots

Hey everyone! I'm baaaaack!

"Back to life...back to reality..." - theme song for my upcoming week because DCT and I are officially back in Chicago and back to the daily grind. We miss Europe terribly and are already planning our next Euro-adventure which will include a longer visit and more mini-trips within our trip.

I'll definitely be updating y'all with pictures of our travels but I figured we should start the week right and get back into the flow of things with a good ol' outfit post :) There are so many things I love about the European culture and lifestyle, and it never ceases to amaze me how inspired I get by diving headfirst into it all. It was even better this time as it was DCT's first visit to Europe and so I was able to get a new perspective on what I'd seen before, which is always very enlightening.

Nothing crazy special about this outfit, except for my booties that I bought while in Amsterdam. I wore them to death through the end of our trip and will continue to wear them throughout the Fall, I heart them :)

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend, thanks for reading!

Happy Monday!

Outfitted: Rainy Days

I personally believe there is nothing better than a rainy day spent inside laying around the apartment. Just give me a good book/movie, a comfy sweater, a cup of tea and I'm set for the entire day. And that was pretty much my Sunday, which felt great as I haven't had a purely lazy day in a long time and it just made it better that it was raining because it really made me not want to do anything :)

I (obviously) did get around to taking a few shots of my outfit during the brief moment I did leave the house. This is standard rainy day gear for me - cropped pants, flats, and a casual top. Can you believe that I've lived in Chicago for almost 3 years, Charleston for 6 years and I have never invested in a pair of rain boots. It's not that I don't like them, I just never felt the need for them. Which is weird seeing as Charleston gets tons of rain all year long and Chicago's winter is no walk in the park. When I see girls walking around in them I always think, 'I should get rain boots this year', but eventually I forget that thought and end up buying items that are much more practical like 5-inch heeled booties :)

But maybe this year will be the year! I'll keep everyone posted ;) Hope you all had a great weekend, it's going to be a busy busy week but then it'll be Europe time! And with that I'll leave you with this little gem to start your week off right :)

HAPPY MONDAY!
