Summer Bags that won't Break the Bank!

Summer Handbags

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! So, if you haven't figured it out via my outfit posts I'm not a big bag girl. I have my staples that I continuously use till they just about fall apart, lol! I've had my 'Baby Aidan' Marc by Marc Jacobs bag for a little over a year now and have been using it nonstop, and therefore with the change of seasons I think it's time to give the bag a little rest.

And thus, the hunt for a new summertime bag begins! Typically I like to drop a little more cash than usual on bags because I only really purchase staples that I use over and over. However this time around I'm looking to save some mulah and eventually bring the Marky Marc back into rotation come Fall.

I'm a little obsessed with the cross-body style as they're super functional and stylish as an everyday bag. I want something fun that can also go with various different outfits.

Have you all retired/plan to retire your Fall bag? Any suggestions on where I should look for decently priced, quality bags? I love hearing your thoughts!

Spring is in the Air for TopShop

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! This past Wednesday I attended TopShop's Spring Style Party hosted by Emma Arnold (Tres Awesome) and Amy Creyer (Chicago Street Style). It was one of the first events I've attended and introduced myself as a fashion blogger, I'm slowly trying to network and (hopefully) make new friends within the Chicago blogging scene and I must say I've met some wonderful people so far!

I think the party was a big hit, there was a live DJ, complimentary drinks (which is always a plus in my book, haha!), a beauty bar where you could get your hair and/or nails done, personal shopping stylists, and a fun photobooth. I mostly mixed and mingled within the crowd, hung out with familiar faces including Taylor from The Wearist, Flavia from LuLu Abroad, and Nikia from ChiTown Fashionista, met some new faces and even got to chat with the hosts Amy & Emma for a bit. It was a really fun time!

I took some snaps of their new Spring styles, lots of covetable pieces! I'll definitely be making a trip back to the store to snatch up a few items, as should you ;) Enjoy the photos below!

Rock This!: Spring Anoraks

Hi everyone! Spring is in the air and temperatures are slowly on the rise. I love this time of year because the weather is perfect for layering and breaking out those lightweight jackets. As you've probably guessed, I'm all about the anorak style jacket (as seen here, and here), I love how easy it is to just throw one on to give an extra element to a casual look, and it falls right in line with the sporty chic trend that's all the rage right now.

My anorak has definitely become a staple and I'm considering investing in an additional one, as I'm literally about to wear my current one out, haha! So for this week's Rock This, here are five spring anoraks you should highly consider adding to your closet. I know I will...

Spring Anoraks
1. Vince Camuto Drawstring Anorak 2. Jack by BB Dakota Chambray Fashion Jacket 3. Anthropologie Rain Dotted Anorak 4. Anthropologie Frozen Oceans Anorak (on sale!) 5. Marc by Marc Jacobs Long Anorak

And, for your styling pleasure, here's the perfect springtime outfit to wear with a classic army green anorak. Who doesn't love a classic, crisp, white shirt dress? Pairing it with an anorak makes the look more casual and throwing on a great pair of colorful wedges adds some fun and personality.

Do you own or plan to purchase an anorak for the spring? How would you style it?

Thanks so much for reading!

Sunday Obsessions: Neon Bright Pants

I'm just really craving some bright colored pants to come into my life right now. I've been on the hunt for a pair for a while now and for some reason could only turn up colorful sweatpants, which really wasn't the look I was going for ;]. Then today I stumbled upon TopShop, and oh the wonderful things they had! Why I wasn't able to find these pants on their site before I don't really know, but they're definitely there and I'm in love. So in love that I wish I could purchase more than one pair cause I can't decide what color I want...

I'm thinking its going to come down between the green, blue, or pink...decisions, decisions...I'll keep everyone posted! This discovery just makes me even more excited for TopShop's opening in Chicago on Michigan Ave. It's going to be totally insane there, but they may just be well worth it.
