Summer Bags that won't Break the Bank!

Summer Handbags

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! So, if you haven't figured it out via my outfit posts I'm not a big bag girl. I have my staples that I continuously use till they just about fall apart, lol! I've had my 'Baby Aidan' Marc by Marc Jacobs bag for a little over a year now and have been using it nonstop, and therefore with the change of seasons I think it's time to give the bag a little rest.

And thus, the hunt for a new summertime bag begins! Typically I like to drop a little more cash than usual on bags because I only really purchase staples that I use over and over. However this time around I'm looking to save some mulah and eventually bring the Marky Marc back into rotation come Fall.

I'm a little obsessed with the cross-body style as they're super functional and stylish as an everyday bag. I want something fun that can also go with various different outfits.

Have you all retired/plan to retire your Fall bag? Any suggestions on where I should look for decently priced, quality bags? I love hearing your thoughts!

Rock This!: Baseball Caps

Hi there! I hope everyone had a great weekend :) I've actually been feeling a bit under the weather (probably because of all this crazy weather) and have been trying to get some rest, if there is anything I absolutely hate being, its being sick :P

But nonetheless, the show must go on! Today, I'm bringing you an edition of "Rock This" featuring the hot new fashion accessory...the baseball cap! This actually came about from talking with a good friend of mine, Michelle, who recently bought a Chicago baseball cap (which is super cool, btw, check it out here) and wanted to figure out different ways to style it that wasn't your basic t-shirt + jeans look. I decided to take up the challenge and created 3 different ways that she (and you!) can style this new must-have accessory.

I think this first look would be perfect for Michelle as she has that edgy + cool sense of style that I love. You definitely need a certain amount of swag to complete this look. I can totally see someone pounding the streets of New York (or Paris, *winkwink*nudgenudge* Michelle) in this.

This one is definitely my favorite as it's so relaxed and easy to wear. This would be perfect for a casual weekend with friends spent shopping, eating out, or hey even attending an actual baseball game ;)

Last but not least, an unexpected pairing. I love how both the loafers and baseball cap bring a casual element to a flirty skater dress. Wear this when running errands to stay cute + casual while on-the-go.

I think the key to making a baseball cap more fashion-forward than frumpy-dumpy is to choose hats that are in neutral colors so that they'll pair with practically anything and also make sure there is minimal to no branding on the front. That way you can throw it on as you would any other accessory for a boyishly-cool, laid-back fashionista vibe.

What say you, readers? Have you or will you try accessorizing with a baseball cap? Would love to hear how you all would wear it! :) Thanks for reading!

Outfitted: Electric Blue Pants + Michael Kors Bling

Hi everyone! It has been gloriously warm and sunny this past week in Chicago. I almost feel as if I'm back down South (almost...). For me, whenever I see the sun shining I automatically go for a bright and sunny outfit to match. Exhibit A - electric blue pants, neon orange, and warm mustard yellow. You're simply destined to have a great day if you wear something as bright as this, haha! ;)

DCT and I have slowly become Michael Kors fanatics, though I've always loved his designs (and fabulous personality), we've renewed our obsession which all started with the purchase of his tortoise shell watch. And now I'm officially all blinged out in Michael Kors, haha! The necklace, bracelets, and stackable rings were my birthday present from DCT. I love the turqouise and gold paired together and I'm obsessed with the rings. DCT did very good picking everything out himself, I was very impressed, haha!

Also, I officially need to get more colored denim into my closet, I only have these blue pair and another red , and I find they've been my go to pants right after laundry day. They're so fun and I could do so much with more colors :)

Any fun plans for the weekend? I'll be at work the entire time (womp womp, haha!), such is the life of working in retail. ;)

Thanks so much for reading!
