Outfitted :: Be Mine, Valentine

Timing Dot blouse (similar from the Kardashian Kollection) / H&M skirt as dress (old) / Old Navy leopard booties

Happy (Belated) Valentine's Day! I hope your day was spent surrounded by people you love whether that be a significant other, mother, father, siblings, or friends. I personally have never looked at Valentine's Day as being a strictly romantic holiday, it's about spreading all sorts of love.

Of course, it being a holiday, I always jump at the opportunity to show my holiday cheer through what I wear and though I wasn't screaming Valentine's Day as much as last year, I like to think I gave it a little wink with a blouse covered in the palest of pink dots, a flirty dress (that is actually a skirt), a touch of leopard (because, why not?), and rose colored lips. I think I was rather full of the Valentine's Day spirit :)

Other than that, my Valentine's was pretty low-key, DCT and I have been so busy and are currently working different schedules that we didn't even plan to do anything, it was just your average day at the A & D household, we splurged a little on Thai delivery and snuggled up for a late-night movie thanks to Red Box and our home theater. Sweatpants and slippers were in attendance, it was the perfect way to end the most romantic day of the year.

And on that note, Happy freakin' Friday! Thanks for reading!

Outfitted: Pink Blazer + Hot Red Pants

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a splendid Valentine's Day and spent it with people you love and care for :) I must say I had a pretty successful day myself. Work was very relaxed and then DCT and I had a fabulous dinner at this quaint Mexican restaurant, where I had my fair share of their vanilla-bean and pineapple infused tequila drink, I was feeling fantastic by the end of the night, haha!

I wanted to share with you all what I wore for the holiday, usually I'm never this festive when it comes to Valentine's Day, but for some reason this year I felt like going all out. Since DCT and I had dinner reservations right after I got off from work I wanted something that could easily transfer from day-wear to night-wear, hence the pink blazer!

As I said, normally the most festive I get for Valentine's Day is red/pink nail polish, but I suppose I woke up on the right side of the bed yesterday morning :) I really like how the different shades of reds and pinks complement each other and I can definitely see myself repeating this outfit, Valentine's day or not ;)

For the date that night I slipped into this fun little romper, kept the blazer, added some heels, and I was good to go! The blazer and romper kept the outfit more casual, while the addition of the heels dressed it up enough for a V-day date night!

What did you all do for Valentine's Day? Thanks for reading!

Rock This!: Valentine's Day

Happy Friday! I'm super pumped because this is actually a real Friday for me, meaning no work tomorrow! I haven't had a Saturday off in awhile, and I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself...probably school work, haha! What a life I live ;)

So it's February, meaning Valentine's Day is right around the corner. I've never really cared that much about Valentine's Day, didn't hate it, but wasn't obsessed with it either. To me it was just a nice excuse to eat chocolate, wear pink, watch silly romantic movies, and drink girly cocktails - not that I don't do that every other day of the year ;) - But I know there are some people out there that take Valentine's Day very seriously.

Though DCT and I have yet to make any official plans (we're totally last minute when it comes to things like this) I already have a date night outfit planned and I thought I'd share some possible outfit ideas for you fabulous readers....
Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas by kinksarethenewpink

1. A tailored blazer in a peachy-pink color gives that perfect V-Day pop for brunch with friends (Blazer - Topshop)

2. Whether you're single and going out with the girls or heading to a hot date a ruffled dress in a cool purple hue gets amped up a notch for Valentine's Day with hot pink accessories. (Dress - Halston Heritage)

3. This floral ensemble is perfect for a classy dinner for two. (Dress - TopShop)

4. Maybe you're staying in and cooking dinner with your significant other or having a movie night with gal pals, whichever you do stay comfy and cute with this heart-print sweater dress. (Sweater Dress - AX Paris)

When it comes to holidays such as Valentine's day, I think simple/quirky nods to the holiday makes for the best outfits. You don't have to go all out with red and pink, hearts and kisses (though that can be lots of fun too). Have you set your plans for V-Day? If so, what are you doing and, most importantly, what are you wearing?
