Getting Kinky: A Funky Little 'Do

Hi everyone! The night before last, as I was finishing putting together yesterday's post I realized I hadn't done a hair post in a pretty long time. I started doing some brainstorming for post ideas and next thing I know, it's way past my bedtime (which sometimes is really early, I'm kind of an old lady, haha!). I go start my bedtime routine (yes, I have a bedtime routine - they say it helps you fall asleep faster if you do the same thing every night before you head to bed) - wash my face, brush my teeth, and I'm literally about to tie my hair up for the night when I randomly decide to just start twisting my hair. I literally was just grabbing big random chunks and two-strand twisting away.

After about 5 minutes of this my body remembered that it was past bedtime and exhaustion hit me full on, I wanted my face in my pillow stat. The thing was, I had only twisted the front and top half of my hair, but I could barely keep my eyes open so I figured I'd just stop, go to bed, and if I looked completely cray cray in the morning then I could just wash it out, no biggie.

The next morning came, and I truly forgot that half my head was in twists until it was time for me to get ready for work. After I took the twists out I was unsure of what I had created, it was kinda funky but also kinda Albert Einstein. Even looking at these pictures, I'm still slightly unsure about it, it definitely grew on me as throughout the day. I think I was attempting to make it look as if I had a tapered fro, but I don't know if I was all that successful, lol! But y'all let me know if this is a 'yay' or a 'nay', and maybe this will become a staple hair style. It's super easy, especially since I was able to do it while half-asleep. Outfitted: Twists

Last week was rejuvenate my hair week, it was starting to look a little rough around the edges and I hadn't given it some proper TLC in a long time. So I did a thorough detangling session, trimmed my ends and even put twists in :) I'm still at a point where my twists aren't really neat enough to wear out in public, haha! I tend to just grab random chunks and twist them up which results in pieces sticking in weird directions giving me a look similar to Coolio...cue Gangsta's Paradise ;)

To keep from embarrassing myself and others this time I threw on a little beanie and had a few pieces in front poking out, which I really liked and if I could wear hats to work I may have left the twists in for another day to get extra definition on my twist out. Stay tuned for a post on the different ways I styled my twist out, I'm finally starting to play with my hair more and it's excitingggg (at least for me, haha).
