Happy Friday! :: Outfitted: RueBelle Designs

Hi everyone!

It was actually relatively cool this day so I busted out the tights and my favorite Fall shoe - the bootie :) You've seen this anorak many times before, but it's just the perfect layering piece I can't seem to give it a rest. However, I would like to invest in an updated version with leather sleeves as I mentioned in this post, it would be the perfect upgrade :) You've also seen this dress before as it's actually a skirt but I decided to switch things up a bit, you know keep things interesting, plus I love when items are unexpectedly versatile.

I also must talk to you about these earrings! I recieved them as a gift from RueBelle Designs (Thanks Jeannie!), they create a line of high-end jewelry and are the originators of the Silk Flower Earring, all of which are handmade on the island of Maui in Hawaii *swoon* That is one place I have yet to visit, but these earrings definitely gave me a taste of what it may be like laying on the beach drinking in the hot Hawaiian sun....

I'm wearing the White Peony set which has the hand painted silk flower, moonstones, opals, and a 14K gold fill chain and findings. They're beautifully made and can really brighten up any outfit. I'm also loving their Fuschia Orchid Earrings and Star Flower Earrings. Be sure to check out their online boutique (click here!) as they also offer a beautiful collection of necklaces, bracelets, headbands, and a really cool men's section!

Thanks again to RueBelle Designs and thanks to you all for reading! Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!!

Euro-Invasion Day 7: Amsterdam Part II

Hi everyone! So are we getting sick of my vacation pictures yet? No? Good, cause I'm bringing you even more, haha! I was so obsessed with Amsterdam I took a million pictures which is why Amsterdam has been broken down into two parts, that way I don't overload you with thousands of pictures in one post. You see, I always have your best interests in mind ;)

These pictures are from our second and last day in Amsterdam, us again eating and drinking and being merry, lol. We took a tour of the Ann Frank House , which was very interesting and heartbreaking, we climbed the highest tower in Amsterdam and viewed the whole city of the top, and really just enjoyed meandering around as if we were locals :) Enjoy the photogs!

(The canals were literally like looking at a postcard)

(Dutch Breakfast)

(The bell tower we were to climb)

(Names of the men who worked on the tower carved into the wood dating back to 1630)

(Creepy stairs to climb, I almost fell twice, haha!)

(Canal crashing)

(One of the best meals we had)

Rock This!: Leather Detailing

Hello there! I feel I haven't done a 'Rock This!' post in ages! So here we are back with a trend I'm currently obsessing over - leather detailing. From collars to sleeves to side panels on shirts, pants, and dresses this is a style that can easily be incorporated into any wardrobe for a cool, chic, and slightly edgy appeal. As usual I put together a few outfits for some inspiration on how you can style your leather detailing, enjoy!

Leather Detailing - Leather Sleeves

A nice update to your basic army green jacket the leather sleeves crank this more casual look up another level. Add a chunky circle scarf and a pair of printed booties and you have the perfect outfit for a low-key Fall weekend.

Leather Pockets

A classic wool shift dress with leather trimmings is not only work appropriate but can also take you through to happy hour ;) Add some equestrian elements including stacked riding boots and gold accessories to keep it polished and a bright red tote just for fun.

Leather Panels

A lazy Sunday doesn't have to mean yoga pants and a hoodie, leather paneled pants can be just as comfy, yet totally chic. Pair them with a chunky knit and denim jacket and you're fashionably prepared for a recovery brunch. Bloody Mary's all around!

Euro-Invasion Day 5: Amsterdam Part I

Hi there! I'm back with more photos from our mini-trip to Amsterdam! Absolutely wonderful city, think of all the great things you've ever heard about Amsterdam then times it by 10 and that's exactly how awesome this city is, haha!

Instead of staying in a hotel in the more central tourist location, DCT and I rented a vacation apartment in the neighborhood known as the Jordaan. If you live or have ever been to Chicago, think of if the neighborhoods Wicker Park and Lincoln Park had a baby, it would be exactly like the Jordaan, haha! The apartment was amazing, as it was right on a canal and right above a quaint little pub. We arrived in Amsterdam in the early evening and after resting up from our long drive in (and dealing with a bit of a parking fiasco) we booked a last minute reservation to do a candlelight wine & cheese canal cruise, which ended up being the perfect way to spend our first night in Amsterdam.

Enjoy the photos of our cruise and us exploring eating and drinking our way through the city!

 (view from the apartment windows)

(just your average plant growing on the back patio...only in Amsterdam)

(un bier, kaffe and some serious people watching)

(croquettes, pomme frites, & banana pancakes #noms)

(yay Amsterdam!)

Happy Monday!
